Discourse on Affliction, Guṇa-Equilibrium, and the Inner Battle
The verse urges moral recollection: past wrongs—especially the dishonor of Draupadī and the violence surrounding Kīcaka—should not be forgotten, because memory of injustice sustains vigilance for dharma and accountability.
Vāyu addresses Arjuna (Pārtha), pointing back to the Pandavas’ incognito exile and recalling the Kīcaka episode and Draupadī’s suffering, challenging Arjuna’s willingness to remember those painful events.
