व्याधि-गुण-साम्योपदेशः | Discourse on Affliction, Guṇa-Equilibrium, and the Inner Battle
अपन क्रात बछ। अर: अं द्ादशो<ड् ध्याय: भगवान् श्रीकृष्णका कक मनपर विजय करनेके आदेश वायुदेव उवाच द्विविधो जायते व्याधि: शारीरो मानसस्तथा । परस्परं तयोर्जन्म निर्दधन्द्धं नोपपद्यते
vāyudeva uvāca | dvividho jāyate vyādhiḥ śārīro mānasas tathā | parasparaṃ tayor janma nirdahaddhaṃ nopapadyate ||
Vāyudeva dit : « La maladie naît sous deux formes — corporelle et mentale. Chacune vient au monde en dépendance de l’autre ; sans leur interaction réciproque, on ne saurait rendre compte correctement de leur origine. »
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse teaches that human suffering and illness are not purely physical or purely psychological; bodily and mental afflictions condition each other. Ethical self-discipline and inner balance are therefore relevant to health, just as bodily regulation supports clarity of mind.
