Marutta’s Sacrifice: Indra’s Threat, Saṃvarta’s Mantric Restraint, and Divine Reconciliation (अध्याय १०)
तमायान्तं सहित देवसंघै: प्रत्युध्ययां सपुरोधा मरुत्त: । चक्रे पूजां देवराजाय चाग्रयां यथाशास्त्रं विधिवत् प्रीयमाण:
tam āyāntaṃ sahita-deva-saṅghaiḥ pratyudyayau sa-purodhā maruttaḥ | cakre pūjāṃ deva-rājāya cāgryāṃ yathā-śāstraṃ vidhi-vat prīyamāṇaḥ ||
Voyant Indra, roi des dieux, s’avancer au milieu de l’assemblée divine, le roi Marutta—avec son prêtre domestique—alla à sa rencontre. Le cœur joyeux, il rendit au souverain céleste les honneurs et le culte les plus éminents, exactement selon les prescriptions des ordonnances sacrées et dans la forme rituelle requise. L’épisode met en lumière l’éthique de l’hospitalité révérencieuse et la discipline du dharma lorsqu’on accueille un hôte digne, surtout d’un rang supérieur.
