वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even after irreparable loss, dharma points toward kṣamā (forbearance/forgiveness) and reconciliation: grief need not harden into perpetual enmity, and elders may seek peace to restore moral order after war.
Vaiśampāyana reports that Gāndhārī, devastated by the death of her sons, is making an earnest request to the assembled people through him—positioning her as a grieving mother seeking a response marked by compassion and restraint.
