Gāndhārī’s Petition for a Vision of the Departed

Even the strongest bonds of love and the greatest personal valor cannot always avert suffering; dharma includes accepting human limits and the workings of destiny while maintaining compassion and responsibility.
Yudhiṣṭhira recalls that Sahadeva—though especially beloved of his mother Mādrī—could not rescue her from a grave danger, underscoring the inevitability of the crisis and the helplessness of even heroic sons.
