Et, obéissant à l’ordre du roi, le précepteur Kṛpa de la lignée de Gautama, en tant que commandant, partit avec l’armée vers l’ermitage.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic governance and conduct: a respected elder (Kṛpa) acts with disciplined obedience to the king’s lawful instruction, showing that authority and responsibility should be exercised and followed in an orderly, ethical manner, especially during sensitive transitions such as withdrawal to the forest.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that, following the king’s order (Yudhiṣṭhira), Kṛpācārya—identified as of the Gautama lineage and functioning as commander—takes the troops and proceeds toward the hermitage.
