Offerings for Ancestors and Their Stated Results
इत्युक्त: स तथेत्युक्त्वा भगवान् हव्यवाहन: । जगामाथ दुराधर्षो गड़ां भागीरथीं प्रति,देवताओंके ऐसा कहनेपर “तथास्तु” कहकर दुर्धर्ष भगवान् हव्यवाहन भागीरथी गंगाके तटपर गये
ity uktaḥ sa tathety uktvā bhagavān havyavāhanaḥ | jagāmātha durādharṣo gaṅgāṃ bhāgīrathīṃ prati ||
Bhīṣma dit : Ainsi interpellé par les dieux, le divin Havyavāhana, irrésistible, répondit : « Qu’il en soit ainsi. » Puis il se mit en route vers la Bhāgīrathī, le Gange.
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights readiness to affirm and carry out a rightful divine request—saying “tathāstu” and acting without delay—reflecting alignment with dharma and the maintenance of cosmic order.
