Saudāsa–Vasiṣṭha on the Purifying Power of Cows

ये दोषा यादृशाश्ैव द्विजयज्ञोपघातके । विक्रये चापहारे च ते दोषा वै स्मृता: प्रभो
Transliteration
ye doṣā yādṛśāś caiva dvija-yajñopaghātake | vikraye cāpahāre ca te doṣā vai smṛtāḥ prabho ||
Translation
Bhīṣma dit : «Ô seigneur, les mêmes fautes—de même nature et de même mesure—qu’encourt celui qui blesse ou détruit le sacrifice (yajña) d’un brāhmane, sont aussi déclarées encourues dans la vente et dans le vol de la vache d’autrui.»
