On the Fruits of Austerity and Giving

नहि ते वृजिनं किंचित्‌ सुसूक्ष्ममपि विद्यते । “वक्ताओंमें श्रेष्ठ पुत्र! तुमने भलीभाँति मेरी आराधना की है। तुम्हारे द्वारा कोई छोटे- से-छोटा या सूक्ष्म-से-सूक्ष्म अपराध भी नहीं हुआ है

nahi te vṛjinaṃ kiṃcit susūkṣmam api vidyate |

Bhīṣma dit : «Ô fils, le plus éminent des orateurs, il n’y a en toi pas la moindre trace de faute — aucun tort, pas même infime ou subtil. Tu m’as honoré et servi comme il convient ; ainsi es-tu exempt de la plus petite offense.»

Bhīṣma addresses the listener (a ‘son’ in affectionate address), commending him for correct attendance and honoring of Bhīṣma, and declares that the listener has committed no offence whatsoever.
