Mataṅga–Śakra Dialogue on Tapas, Status, and Moral Qualities
ते संविभक्ता मुनिभिरननुनं देवैः सवासवै: । येडभिगच्छन्ति सततं गड्जां मतिमतां वर
te saṁvibhaktā munibhir anunūnaṁ devaiḥ savāsavaiḥ | ye ’bhigacchanti satataṁ gaṅgāṁ matimatāṁ vara ||
Ceux qui se rendent sans cesse au Gaṅgā reçoivent assurément une faveur distincte et abondante de la part des sages et des dieux, avec Vāsava (Indra). Le Siddha affirme qu’un tel pèlerinage constant attire la grâce divine et celle des ascètes, marquant le pèlerin comme celui qui recherche la purification et vit dans la révérence du dharma.
सिद्ध उवाच
Steady pilgrimage to the Gaṅgā is presented as a dharmic practice that brings abundant, specific blessings from both sages and gods (including Indra), emphasizing purification, reverence, and sustained religious discipline.
A Siddha is speaking, praising those who continually visit the Gaṅgā and declaring that such devotees are specially favored by the munis and the devas, framing Gaṅgā-approach as a powerful tirtha practice.
