sameta pārthivaṃ kṣatraṃ kāśipuryā svayaṃvare

Translation

Vaiśampāyana dit : Lors du svayaṃvara tenu à Kāśī, toute l’assemblée des kṣatriya de sang royal s’était réunie—signe d’une épreuve publique où le pouvoir politique, la lignée et l’éthique du choix matrimonial étaient mis à l’épreuve aux yeux du royaume.
