ज्योतिर्भूत: परमोडसौ पुरस्तात् प्रकाशते यत्प्रभया विश्वरूप: । अप: सृष्टवा सर्वभूतात्मयोनि: पुराकरोत् सर्वमेवाथ विश्वम्
jyotirbhūtaḥ paramo 'sau purastāt prakāśate yatprabhayā viśvarūpaḥ | apaḥ sṛṣṭvā sarvabhūtātmayoniḥ purākarot sarvamevātha viśvam ||
Bhīṣma dit : Lui, la Lumière suprême, apparaît à l’orient en revêtant la Forme universelle ; par son éclat, le monde entier est illuminé. Il est le sein d’où naissent tous les êtres et leur Soi intérieur. Aux temps anciens, après avoir d’abord fait surgir les eaux, il engendra ensuite l’univers tout entier.
