एवं दग्धा भगवता दानवा: स्वेन तेजेसा । अगस्त्येन तदा राज॑ंस्तपसा भावितात्मना,'“राजन्‌! इस प्रकार शुद्ध अन्तःकरणवाले भगवान्‌ अगस्त्यने अपने तप और तेजसे दानवोंको दग्ध कर दिया था

Transliteration

evaṁ dagdhā bhagavatā dānavāḥ svena tejasā | agastyena tadā rājan tapasā bhāvitātmanā ||

Translation

Bhīṣma dit : «Ô roi, c’est ainsi que les Dānavas furent consumés par le bienheureux sage Agastya : son être intérieur, purifié et affermi par le tapas, les brûla par la puissance de sa propre radiance spirituelle.»
