सा च तीव्रं तपस्तेपे महाभागा यशस्विनी । उतथ्यार्थ तु चार्वज्ी परं नियममास्थिता

sā ca tīvrāṁ tapas tepe mahābhāgā yaśasvinī | utathyārthaṁ tu cārv-aṅgī paraṁ niyamam āsthitā ||

Et elle —illustre et grandement bénie— entreprit de rudes austérités. Afin d’obtenir Utathya pour époux, la dame aux membres gracieux adopta la plus haute discipline de maîtrise de soi et commença une pénitence ardente.
