अध्याय १६ — शङ्कर-उमा-वरदानम् तथा तण्डि-स्तुतिः (Śaṅkara–Umā Boon-Granting and Taṇḍi’s Hymn)

ऋग्भिर्यमनुशासन्ति तत्त्वे कर्मणि बहवृचा:

ṛgbhir yam anuśāsanti tattve karmaṇi bahvṛcāḥ | yajurvedake vidvān tātchika yajñakarmameṃ ṛgvedake mantroṃdvārā jinkī mahimākā gān karate haiṃ, yajurvedake jñātā dvija yajñameṃ yajurmantroṃdvārā dakṣiṇāgni, gārhapatya aura āhavanīya—ina trividh rūpoṃ se jānane-yogya jin mahādevajīke uddheśyase āhuti dete haiṃ tathā śuddha buddhise yukta sāmavedake gānevāle vidvān sāma-mantroṃdvārā jinkī stuti gāte haiṃ, atharvavedī brāhmaṇa ṛta, satya evaṃ parabrahma-gāmase jinkī stuti karate haiṃ, jo yajñake parama kāraṇa haiṃ, ve hī ye parameśvara samasta yajñoṃke paramapati māne gaye haiṃ

Vāyu dit : Les savants du Ṛgveda (les Bahvṛca) l’instruisent et le célèbrent par les hymnes Ṛg, selon les principes véritables du rite et de l’acte. Les deux-fois-nés, connaisseurs du Yajurveda, lui offrent les oblations dans le sacrifice au moyen des formules Yajus, le reconnaissant comme les trois feux sacrés—Dakṣiṇāgni, Gārhapatya et Āhavanīya. Les chanteurs du Sāmaveda, l’esprit purifié, entonnent sa louange sur les mélodies Sāman. Les brahmanes de l’Atharvaveda l’exaltent par les voies de Ṛta (l’ordre cosmique), de Satya (la vérité) et du chemin qui mène au Brahman suprême. Parce qu’il est la cause la plus haute du sacrifice, il est reconnu comme le Seigneur suprême et le maître de tous les sacrifices.
