The verse frames Vāyu as a supreme purifier and guiding refuge, implying that true purity and right direction are grounded in alignment with a higher sustaining principle rather than mere external ritual.
A speaker identified as Taṇḍi offers a reverential address, praising Vāyudeva as the highest purifier and the guiding ‘gati’ (way/refuge) for beings who are in motion or striving—setting a devotional and ethical tone within the discourse.
