Purity of mind and disciplined conduct, joined with reverent remembrance/recitation of revered sages, is presented as a dharmic practice that yields spiritual merit and exalted attainment (honor in Indra’s realm).
Bhīṣma continues his instruction on dharma by describing a group of seven revered figures associated with Indra (Mahendra) who dwell in the east, and he states the फल (result) of devoutly reciting their names: one becomes honored in Śakra’s world.
