Adhyāya 152 — Bhīṣma’s Authorization for Yudhiṣṭhira’s Return to the Capital (नगरप्रवेशानुज्ञा)

The verse teaches the inseparability of Śiva and Śakti: the divine masculine is incomplete without the divine feminine. It also frames the feminine principle as essential for sustaining dharma—both by enabling divine purposes (surakārya) and by ensuring worldly continuity through progeny and lineage (lokasantāna).
Śrī Maheśvara addresses the Goddess, declaring that his very body is constituted with her half. He praises her as the power through which divine works are accomplished and through which the world’s continuity is maintained, reinforcing her indispensable role in cosmic and social order.
