कल्मषापहर-कीर्तनम् / Kīrtana for the Removal of Impurity
न स्तम्भी न च मानी यो देवताद्विजपूजक: । लोकपूज्यो नमस्कर्ता प्रश्मितो मधुरं वच:
na stambhī na ca mānī yo devatādvijapūjakaḥ | lokapūjyo namaskartā praśmito madhuraṃ vacaḥ ||
Śrī Maheśvara dit : «Celui qui n’est ni arrogant ni vaniteux ; qui rend un culte aux dieux et honore les dvijas (les “deux-fois-nés”) ; que le monde tient pour digne de révérence ; qui s’incline devant les aînés ; qui est doux et modeste, et parle avec des paroles suaves—celui-là, par ces marques de conduite, suit la voie du dharma.»
श्रीमहेश्वर उवाच
Dharma is marked by humility and reverence: avoiding arrogance and vanity, honoring gods and the learned, showing respect through salutations, maintaining a serene demeanor, and speaking gently and sweetly.
Maheśvara is describing the recognizable traits of a virtuous person—someone whose inner discipline appears outwardly as humility, worshipful respect, courteous behavior, and pleasant speech.
