Bṛhaspati–Yudhiṣṭhira Saṃvāda

नोदकक्लिन्नगात्रस्तु स्‍नात इत्यभिधीयते । स स्नातो यो दमस्नात: स बाह्याभ्यन्तर: शुचि:

Bhīṣma dit : On n’appelle pas « bain » le simple fait de mouiller son corps avec de l’eau. S’est vraiment baigné celui qui s’est plongé dans l’eau de la maîtrise de soi—le contrôle de l’esprit et des sens (dama). Celui-là est tenu pour pur au dehors comme au dedans.
