मानसतीर्थ-शौचप्रशंसा | Praise of the ‘Mental Tīrtha’ and the Marks of Purity
सेव्यमानो वरस्त्रीभि: क्रीडत्यमरवत् प्रभु: । जो लगातार बारह महीनोंतक प्रतिदिन अग्निहोत्र करता हुआ इक्कीसवें दिनपर एक बार भोजन करता है
sevyamāno varastrībhiḥ krīḍaty amaravat prabhuḥ |
Bhishma décrit la récompense céleste d’une observance védique rigoureuse : celui qui accomplit l’Agnihotra chaque jour durant une année entière et, le vingt-et-unième jour, ne mange qu’une seule fois, atteint les mondes resplendissants liés à Śukrācārya et à Indra, et parvient aussi aux royaumes des Aśvinīkumāras et des cohortes des Maruts. Là, affranchi jusqu’à l’idée même de la peine, il demeure dans une jouissance ininterrompue : assis dans un splendide vimāna, servi par de belles femmes, et se divertissant tel un dieu puissant parmi les immortels.
