Praise of the ‘Mental Tīrtha’ and the Marks of Purity

Educational Q&A

Dharma and meritorious conduct yield auspicious results; the verse depicts a heavenly reward—an effulgent, jewel-adorned golden vimāna—as a symbolic outcome of accumulated puṇya.

In Bhīṣma’s instruction, he describes the kind of celestial attainment granted to a deserving person: the recipient ‘attains’ a divine vehicle radiant like the sun and moon, golden, well-appointed, and ornamented with all jewels.
