वैशम्पायन उवाच शृणु राजन्‌ पुरा सम्यड्मया द्वैपायनाच्छुतम्‌ । प्रोच्यमानमिदं कृत्स्नं स्ववंशजननं शुभम्‌,वैशम्पायनजीने कहा--राजन्‌! पूर्वकालमें मैंने महर्षि कृष्णद्वैपायनके मुखसे जिसका भलीभाँति श्रवण किया था, वह सम्पूर्ण प्रसंग तुम्हें सुनाता हूँ। अपने वंशकी उत्पत्तिका वह शुभ वृत्तान्त सुनो

Transliteration

vaiśampāyana uvāca | śṛṇu rājan purā samyag mayā dvaipāyanāc chrutam | procyamānam idaṃ kṛtsnaṃ svavaṃśa-jananaṃ śubham |

Translation

Vaiśampāyana dit : «Écoute, ô Roi. Jadis, j’ai entendu ceci en entier et avec justesse de la bouche même de Dvaipāyana. Je vais maintenant te raconter, dans son intégralité, ce récit auspicious de la naissance et de l’essor de ta propre lignée.»
