Āstīka’s Commission and Approach to Janamejaya’s Sarpa-satra (आस्तीक-प्रेषणं यज्ञप्रवेशोपक्रमश्च)
ररक्ष पृथिवीं देवीं श्रीमानतुलविक्रम: । देष्टारस्तस्य नैवासन् स च द्वेष्टि न कंचन,उनके पराक्रमकी कहीं तुलना नहीं थी। वे श्रीसम्पन्न होकर इस वसुधादेवीका पालन करते थे। जगतमें उनसे द्वेष रखनेवाले कोई न थे और वे भी किसीसे द्वेष नहीं रखते थे
rarakṣa pṛthivīṃ devīṃ śrīmān atulavikramaḥ | deṣṭāras tasya naivāsan sa ca dveṣṭi na kaṃcana ||
Janamejaya dit : Comblé de prospérité et d’une vaillance sans égale, il protégea la Terre divine. Nul au monde ne nourrissait de haine contre lui, et lui-même ne haïssait personne ; ainsi son règne fut-il marqué par la force jointe à la bienveillance universelle.
