Śārṅgaka-stuti to Agni during the Khāṇḍava Conflagration (शार्ङ्गक-स्तुतिः / अग्नि-स्तुतिः)
तौ त्वं याचस्व साहाय्ये दाहार्थ खाण्डवस्य च । ततो थक्ष्यसि त॑ दावं रक्षितं त्रिदशैरपि
vaiśampāyana uvāca |
au tvaṃ yācasva sāhāyye dāhārthaṃ khāṇḍavasya ca |
tato thakṣyasi taṃ dāvaṃ rakṣitaṃ tridaśair api ||
Vaiśampāyana dit : «Implore l’aide de ces deux-là pour l’œuvre d’embraser la forêt de Khāṇḍava. Alors tu pourras consumer ce bois par le feu, quand bien même il serait gardé par les Trente (les dieux, conduits par Indra).»
