एकराज्यावेकगृहावेकशय्यासनाशनौ । तिलोत्तमायास्तौ हेतोरन्योन्यमभिजषध्नतु:,उनका एक ही राज्य था और एक ही घर। वे एक ही शय्यापर सोते, एक ही आसनपर बैठते और एक साथ ही भोजन करते थे। इस प्रकार आपसमें अटूट प्रेम होनेपर भी तिलोत्तमा अप्सराके लिये लड़कर उन्होंने एक-दूसरेको मार डाला
ekarājyāvekagṛhāvekśayyāsanāśanau | tilottamāyās tau hetor anyonyam abhijaṣadhnatuḥ ||
Ils partageaient un seul royaume et une seule demeure. Ils dormaient sur le même lit, s’asseyaient sur le même siège et prenaient leurs repas ensemble. Pourtant, malgré une affection si indissoluble, pour l’apsaras Tilottamā ils tombèrent dans la rivalité et s’entre-tuèrent.
