Arjuna Restores a Brāhmaṇa’s Cattle and Accepts Forest Exile

Satya-vrata at Khaṇḍavaprastha

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights dhārmic hospitality and social ethics: a worthy guest is to be received with proper honour, and mutual welfare-inquiries are part of righteous, civil conduct.

After Vidura arrives, he is formally welcomed in a manner consistent with dharma, and then both parties engage in the customary exchange of greetings and questions about each other’s well-being.
