Draupadī Episode
वसिष्ठ उवाच ततस्तं क्रोधजं तात और्वोडग्निं वरुणालये । उत्ससर्ज स चैवाप उपयुद्धक्ते महोदधौ
Vasiṣṭha uvāca: tatas taṁ krodhajaṁ tāta aurvo 'gnim Varuṇālaye | utsasarja sa caivāpa upayuddhakte mahodadhau ||
Vasiṣṭha dit : «Alors, mon enfant, Aurva jeta dans la demeure de Varuṇa — l’océan — ce feu né de la colère. Là, dans la grande mer, il demeure, buvant les eaux et flamboyant.»
वसिष्ठ उवाच
Wrath can generate destructive power, but dharma requires restraint and redirection of that force so it does not harm living beings; here the anger-born fire is contained in the ocean rather than unleashed upon the world.
Vasiṣṭha narrates that Aurva releases a fire produced from anger into the ocean (Varuṇa’s domain), where it remains associated with the sea’s mysterious, consuming fire.
