और्वकृत-क्रोधाग्नि-निग्रहः

Aurva’s Containment of the Wrath-Fire

दृष्टवैव चारुवदने चन्द्रात्‌ कान्ततरं तव । वदन पद्मपत्राक्ष॑ मां मथ्नातीव मन्मथ:,'सुमुखि! जबसे मैंने चन्द्रमासे भी बढ़कर कमनीय एवं कमलदलके समान विशाल नेत्रोंसे युक्त तुम्हारे मुखका दर्शन किया है, तभीसे मनन्‍्मथ मुझे मथ-सा रहा है”

dṛṣṭvaiva cāruvadane candrāt kāntataraṃ tava | vadana padmapatrākṣa māṃ mathnātīva manmathaḥ |

Le Gandharva dit : «Ô toi au visage charmant — ton visage est plus éclatant que la lune. Depuis l’instant où je l’ai contemplé, avec des yeux larges comme des pétales de lotus, Kāma (le dieu du désir) tourmente mon cœur, le brassant comme avec un bâton à baratter.»
