संवरणस्य पतनं, सचिवोपचारः, वसिष्ठस्य सूर्योपगमनम्

एवं मां भगवान् व्यास: पुरा पौरवनन्दन । प्रोवाचासुकरप्रज्ञस्तस्मादेवं चिकीर्षितम्,पौरववंशको आनन्दित करनेवाले युधिष्ठिर! इस प्रकार पूर्वकालमें दुर्लभ विवेक- विज्ञानसे सम्पन्न भगवान् व्यासने मुझसे कहा था; इसीलिये मैंने ऐसी चेष्टा की है
evaṁ māṁ bhagavān vyāsaḥ purā pauravanandana | provācāsukaraprājñas tasmād evaṁ cikīrṣitam ||
Ô joie de la lignée des Paurava, ainsi me parla jadis le vénérable Vyāsa. Doué d’un discernement rare et d’un savoir véritable, il m’instruisit ; c’est pourquoi j’ai entrepris cette voie d’action selon son conseil.
