Ādi Parva, Adhyāya 158 — Aṅgāraparṇa-saṃvāda and Gaṅgā-tīrtha Saṃghaṭṭa

समर्थ: पोषणे चासि सुतयो रक्षणे तथा । न त्वहं सुतयो: शक्ता तथा रक्षणपोषणे,इन दोनों संतानोंका पालन-पोषण और संरक्षण करनेमें आप समर्थ हैं। आपकी तरह मैं इन दोनोंके पालन-पोषण तथा रक्षाकी व्यवस्था नहीं कर सकूँगी
samarthaḥ poṣaṇe cāsi sutayo rakṣaṇe tathā | na tv ahaṃ sutayoḥ śaktā tathā rakṣaṇa-poṣaṇe ||
La femme brāhmane dit : «Tu es capable de pourvoir à ces deux enfants et de les protéger. Mais je ne suis pas, moi, en mesure d’assurer leur entretien et leur sauvegarde comme tu le peux».
