जम्बुक उवाच शृणु मे त्वं महाबाहो यद्‌ वाक्‍्यं मूषिको<ब्रवीत्‌ | धिग्‌ बल॑ मृगराजस्य मयाद्यायं मृगो हतः

Le chacal dit : «Écoute-moi, ô aux bras puissants, quant aux paroles que la souris a prononcées (à ton sujet). Elle disait : “Honni soit la force du roi des bêtes, le tigre ! Aujourd’hui, c’est moi qui ai tué ce gibier.”»
