वैशम्पायन उवाच ततः सत्यवती भीष्मं वाचा संसज्जमानया । विहसन्तीव सत्रीडमिदं वचनमब्रवीत्,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! तब सत्यवती कुछ हँसती और साथ ही लजाती हुई भीष्मजीसे इस प्रकार बोली। बोलते समय उसकी वाणी संकोचसे कुछ अस्पष्ट-सी हो जाती थी
vaiśampāyana uvāca tataḥ satyavatī bhīṣmaṃ vācā saṃsajjamānayā | vihasantīva sa-trīḍam idaṃ vacanam abravīt |
Vaiśampāyana dit : Alors Satyavatī, la voix hésitante sous l’effet du trouble, s’adressa à Bhīṣma. Souriante comme si elle allait rire, mais avec la pudeur d’une femme, elle prononça ces paroles—et sa voix devint indistincte, retenue par la modestie.
