Road to Yama and Ten-Day Offerings

क्रमेण याति स प्रेतः पुरं याम्यं शुभाशुभम् / अतीत्य तानितान्येव मार्गे पुरवराणि च

krameṇa yāti sa pretaḥ puraṃ yāmyaṃ śubhāśubham / atītya tānitānyeva mārge puravarāṇi ca

Pas à pas, ce preta s’avance vers la cité de Yama, le domaine où l’on éprouve les fruits du mérite comme du péché ; et, en chemin, il dépasse ces diverses cités excellentes (étapes) qui jalonnent la route.
