Veṅkaṭācala Māhātmya: Bhakti-Lakṣaṇa, Nārasiṁha-tīrtha, and the Secret Darśana-Vidhi of Śrīnivāsa
Narrator/compiled voice of the Purana praising Lord Vishnu (Hari/Murari)
Concept: Nāma-smaraṇa and darśana of Govinda as the Veda-vedya (known through the Vedas) culminate in transformative bliss.
Vedantic Theme: Saguna Brahman as Veda-pramāṇa-gocara; devotion ripens into direct experiential certainty (anubhava) without denying śāstra.
Application: Daily repetition of Govinda/Hari/Murāri with śāstra-respect; cultivate darśana-bhāva (seeing the Lord in temple/icon and in life) leading to softened heart and tears of gratitude.
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shanta
Related Themes: Garuda Purana 3.24.58-61 (continuation: dwelling with the Lord, nāma-kīrtana, reaching a tīrtha)
This verse frames “Govinda” as a constant remembrance-name of the Supreme, highlighting bhakti as an immediate, living connection to Hari rather than a merely intellectual idea.
By calling the Lord “veda-vedya” (knowable through the Vedas) while depicting dancing and blissful tears, it unites scriptural knowledge with direct devotional experience at the Lord’s darśana.
Keep steady nāma-smaraṇa (remembering names like Govinda/Hari) and pair study of dharma with heartfelt worship—letting understanding mature into humility, gratitude, and ethical conduct.
