FAQs

This verse links restraint (avoiding honey, meat, and certain prepared foods) with ritual purity and readiness for sacred learning, presenting discipline as part of dharma.

A true guru is described as one who performs the required rites correctly and then transmits Vedic knowledge—practice and proper initiation/teaching go together.

Adopt moderation and purity in diet and conduct when undertaking religious observances, and seek teachers who embody practice, integrity, and authentic transmission of knowledge.
