This verse preserves practical, tradition-backed guidance: specific foods and herbs are presented as means to reduce or remove a spleen-related disorder, showing that the text also transmits health-oriented dharmic living.
While much of the Garuda Purana discusses dharma, karma, and post-death rites, it also includes applied instruction for embodied life—here, a concise therapeutic note on diet and herbs.
Treat it as a traditional reference: consult a qualified practitioner before using pippalī, honey, or sūraṇa medicinally, and adopt mindful diet choices as part of disciplined living.
