Cikitsā-sāra: Doṣa Nidāna–Lakṣaṇa, Agni, Ajīrṇa/Āma Cikitsā, Daśamūla, and Prognostic Signs

गर्भिण्याः श्लैष्मिकैर्भक्ष्यैः श्लैष्मिको जायते नरः / वातलैः पित्तलैस्तद्वत्समधातुर्हिताशनात्

garbhiṇyāḥ ślaiṣmikairbhakṣyaiḥ ślaiṣmiko jāyate naraḥ / vātalaiḥ pittalaistadvatsamadhāturhitāśanāt

Des aliments qui accroissent le flegme (kapha) pris par la femme enceinte naît un être à dominante kapha ; de même, des mets qui excitent le vāta (vent) ou le pitta (bile). Mais d’une nourriture saine, bénéfique et juste naît celui dont les éléments du corps demeurent en équilibre.
