Ambarīṣa’s Prayers to Sudarśana and the Deliverance of Durvāsā
This verse shows that the Lord’s weapon (Sudarśana) can overpower even a great sage and that relief comes when the devotee is honored—after which Durvāsā becomes peaceful and praises Ambarīṣa.
After suffering from the Sudarśana weapon’s burning pursuit and then being freed from that torment, Durvāsā recognized Ambarīṣa’s exalted devotion and therefore praised him and offered supreme blessings.
Respect sincere devotees, avoid offense, and cultivate humility—because spiritual power without devotion can lead to downfall, while devotion brings divine protection and peace.
