Śrāddhadeva Manu’s Sons: Pṛṣadhra’s Curse and Renunciation; Genealogies of Nariṣyanta and Diṣṭa
This verse states that from Nariṣyanta arose a brāhmaṇa family known as the Āgniveśyāyana line, indicating the emergence of a priestly dynasty within the broader royal genealogy.
He is presenting the genealogies of Manu’s descendants in sequence; after completing Nariṣyanta’s line, he transitions to narrate the next branch—Diṣṭa’s lineage.
They cultivate śraddhā by showing how dharma and devotion flow through generations, encouraging readers to honor sacred history and align their own family life with bhakti and righteous conduct.
