निशम्याक्रन्दितं देवी पुत्रयोर्नीयमानयो: । हतास्म्यहं कुनाथेन नपुंसा वीरमानिना ॥ २८ ॥
niśamyākranditaṁ devī putrayor nīyamānayoḥ hatāsmy ahaṁ kunāthena napuṁsā vīra-māninā
Urvaśī chérissait les deux agneaux comme ses propres fils. Entendant leurs cris tandis qu’on les emmenait, elle blâma son époux : « Je péris sous la garde d’un mari indigne, qui se croit vaillant mais n’est que lâche et impuissant ! »
