Kṛṣṇa Visits Trivakrā; Akrūra’s Praise and the Hastināpura Mission
teṣu rājāmbikā-putro bhrātṛ-putreṣu dīna-dhīḥ samo na vartate nūnaṁ duṣputra-vaśa-go ’ndha-dṛk
This verse criticizes a ruler who fails to remain equal toward his brother’s sons, showing that attachment and favoritism are forms of blindness that lead one away from dharma.
Beyond physical blindness, the verse points to moral blindness—his judgment becomes weakened because he is controlled by his wicked sons and thus cannot act impartially.
Make decisions by fairness and principle rather than pressure from close relations; examine whether attachment is distorting your judgment, and choose what is dharmic even when it is difficult.
