Comme Uddhava allait partir, Nanda et les autres s’approchèrent de lui avec affection, portant en leurs mains divers présents d’adoration. Les yeux baignés de larmes, ils lui dirent ainsi.
Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī points out that Nanda and the cowherd men did not approach Uddhava as a formality, but rather out of spontaneous affection for a dear friend of Kṛṣṇa’s.
This verse shows Nanda and the Vraja elders’ intense affection—so strong that they approach Krishna’s messenger with offerings and tearful eyes, revealing their deep parental devotion.
Uddhava was Krishna’s trusted messenger; by honoring him with gifts, they expressed love for Krishna and sought connection with Him through His devotee.
Serve and honor devotees, and keep heartfelt remembrance of the Lord—turning emotion into devotion through sincere prayer, service, and generosity.
