Varṣā-Śarad Vṛndāvana-Śobha: The Beauty of the Rainy and Autumn Seasons in Vraja
शाद्वलोपरि संविश्य चर्वतो मीलितेक्षणान् । तृप्तान् वृषान् वत्सतरान् गाश्च स्वोधोभरश्रमा: ॥ ३० ॥ प्रावृट्श्रियं च तां वीक्ष्य सर्वकालसुखावहाम् । भगवान् पूजयां चक्रे आत्मशक्त्युपबृंहिताम् ॥ ३१ ॥
śādvalopari saṁviśya carvato mīlitekṣaṇān tṛptān vṛṣān vatsatarān gāś ca svodho-bhara-śramāḥ
Le Seigneur contempla les taureaux, les veaux et les vaches, rassasiés, assis sur l’herbe verte, ruminant les yeux clos; et Il vit les vaches fatiguées par le poids de leurs pis lourds de lait. Voyant la beauté et l’opulence de la saison des pluies à Vṛndāvana—source de joie en tout temps—déployée par Sa propre puissance interne, le Bhagavān rendit hommage à cette saison et la vénéra.
The lush beauty of the rainy season in Vṛndāvana is meant to enhance the pleasure pastimes of Śrī Kṛṣṇa. Thus, to set the scene for the Lord’s loving affairs, His internal potency makes all the arrangements described in this chapter.
It portrays Kṛṣṇa intimately present among the cows and calves—resting on the grass while they peacefully chew cud—showing His tender, pastoral Vraja-līlā.
The scene highlights the natural rhythm of Vraja and Kṛṣṇa’s affectionate guardianship—He delights in their contentment and shares their simple, loving village atmosphere.
