The Lord’s Advent: Yoga-māyā’s Mission, Saṅkarṣaṇa’s Transfer, and the Demigods’ Prayers
दिष्टयाम्ब ते कुक्षिगत: पर: पुमा- नंशेन साक्षाद् भगवान् भवाय न: । माभूद् भयं भोजपतेर्मुमूर्षो- र्गोप्ता यदूनां भविता तवात्मज: ॥ ४१ ॥
diṣṭyāmba te kukṣi-gataḥ paraḥ pumān aṁśena sākṣād bhagavān bhavāya naḥ mābhūd bhayaṁ bhoja-pater mumūrṣor goptā yadūnāṁ bhavitā tavātmajaḥ
Ô mère Devakī, par ta bonne fortune et la nôtre, Bhagavān Lui-même, avec Ses expansions plénières (telles que Baladeva), se trouve maintenant dans ton sein pour notre bien. Ne crains donc pas Kaṁsa, seigneur des Bhoja, car il est voué à périr de la main du Seigneur. Ton fils éternel, Kṛṣṇa, sera le protecteur de toute la dynastie des Yadu.
The words paraḥ pumān aṁśena signify that Kṛṣṇa is the original Supreme Personality of Godhead. This is the verdict of the śāstra ( kṛṣṇas tu bhagavān svayam ). Thus the demigods assured Devakī, “Your son is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and He is appearing with Baladeva, His plenary portion. He will give you all protection and kill Kaṁsa, who has decided to continue his enmity toward the Lord and thus be killed by Him.”
This verse declares that the Supreme Lord Himself entered Devakī’s womb (with His divine expansion) specifically for the welfare of the devotees and the world.
Devakī reassures Rohiṇī that Kaṁsa is destined to die and that her son will become the protector of the Yadu dynasty, so fear is unnecessary.
It teaches that when one remembers the Lord’s protective presence and purpose, fear diminishes—faith replaces anxiety, and one acts with steadiness and hope.
