Sukta 8
यथेमे द्यावापृथिवी सद्यः पर्येति सूर्यः । एवा पर्येमि ते मनो यथा मां कामिन्यसो यथा मन्नापगा असः
yáthéme dyā́vā-pṛthivī́ sadyáḥ páryeti sū́ryaḥ | evā́ páryemi te máno yáthā mā́ṁ kāmínyaso yáthā mánnāpagā́ ásaḥ ||
As the Sun forthwith goes round these Heaven and Earth, so do I encompass thy mind—so that the longing maidens may be mine, so that they be not gone away from me.
Comme le Soleil, aussitôt, fait le tour de ce Ciel et de cette Terre, ainsi j’enveloppe ton esprit — afin que les jeunes filles ardentes soient à moi, afin qu’elles ne s’éloignent pas de moi.
