Sukta 135
तां ह जरितर्नः प्रत्यगृभ्णंस्तामु ह जरितर्नः प्रत्यगृभ्णः । अहानेतरसं न वि चेतनानि यज्ञानेतरसं न पुरोगवामः
tā́m ha jaritar naḥ prátyagṛbhṇan tā́m u ha jaritar naḥ prátyagṛbhṇaḥ | áhān-itarasaṃ naḥ ví cetánāni yajñān-itarasaṃ naḥ púro-gavāmaḥ
That, indeed, O Singer, for us they have received; that, moreover, O Singer, for us they have received. Not other than the days be our discernments; not other than sacrifice—may we be cattle-foremost.
Celle-là, en vérité, ô Chanteur, ils l’ont reçue pour nous; celle-là encore, ô Chanteur, ils l’ont reçue pour nous. Que nos discernements ne soient pas autres que les jours; que nous ne soyons pas autres que le sacrifice—puissions-nous être à la tête des troupeaux.
