Related Themes: Agni Purana 96 (liṅgārcana, nyāsa, rakṣā)
It gives a precise temple-ritual instruction: an auxiliary worship-object/arrangement equipped with pañcaratna and related requisites should be placed to the north of the Śiva-liṅga, laid out in a liṅga-like configuration, and worshipped strictly according to vidhi.
Beyond theology, it preserves practical liturgical engineering—directional placement (uttarataḥ), standardized ritual materials (pañcaratna), and prescribed layout (vinyāsa)—showing the Agni Purana’s coverage of applied temple procedure alongside mythic and doctrinal material.
Performing worship with correct direction, materials, and vidhivat procedure is presented as ensuring ritual purity and completeness of liṅgārcana, thereby supporting merit (puṇya) and the intended sanctifying effect of Śiva worship.
