Concept: Ritual technology of ‘seats’ (āsana) and ‘gestures’ (mudrā): stability (sthira/dhruva) is invoked to anchor divine presence and protective potency.
Application: When performing kumbha-pūjā with protective intent, explicitly install the intended āsana(s) and seal the rite with the prescribed mudrā to avoid an ‘unfixed’ (asthira) installation.

Secondary Rasa: Adbhuta

Related Themes: Agni Purana 96 (kumbha rites; mudrā usage; rakṣā procedures nearby)
It prescribes a precise pūjā sequence: install/worship specific ritual ‘seats’ (Sthirāsana for Śiva in the kumbha and Dhruvāsana for weapon-purpose rites) and then perform ritual activation by touching with the Udbhava-mudrā.
It exemplifies the Agni Purana’s manual-like coverage of applied ritual technology—kalasha worship, āsana-nyāsa classifications, and mudrā usage—alongside specialized rites connected even to śastra (weapons), showing breadth beyond purely mythic narration.
By correctly worshipping the designated āsanas and sealing the rite with an authorized mudrā, the practitioner is understood to stabilize the deity’s presence and purify/empower the ritual object (kumbha and associated implements), ensuring the rite bears intended auspicious results.
