Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"Procedure","entry_title":"Tattva-Mūrti Homa after Dhārikā-Śakti Pūjā","lookup_keywords":["homa","dharika-shakti","tattva-adhishthatr","ghrita","kunda"],"quick_summary":"First worship the sustaining śakti and satisfy her in the fire-pit; then make ghee-offerings to the presiding forms of the tattvas and their subsidiary portions, following the prescribed order."}

Concept: Tattvas are not merely metaphysical categories but ritually actionable presences (mūrtis) approached through homa and tarpana.

Application: Design homa sequences that move from foundational śakti to differentiated tattva-forces, maintaining krama (order) to avoid ritual incoherence.

Sandhi Resolution Notes: murtīrmūrtīrśāṃś = mūrtīḥ + mūrtīḥ + aṃśān (visarga/sandhi variants); ghṛtādibhiḥ = ghṛta + ādibhiḥ.

FAQs

It teaches the homa sequence: first worship the sustaining Śakti, then propitiate her in the kuṇḍa, and next offer ghee and related oblations to the presiding deities of the tattvas and their subsidiary aspects.

By detailing a precise, technical ritual protocol (pūjā + tarpana + graded offerings to tattva-deities), it exemplifies the Agni Purana’s manual-like coverage of practical religious procedures alongside its many other disciplines.

Following the prescribed order aligns the worshipper with the cosmic principles (tattvas) and their divine governance, making the rite ritually complete (pūrṇa) and believed to yield purification and merit through correctly directed offerings.
